The full form of HTTPS in networking related to computer is HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure. It is actually an extension of HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol). By default, the protocol uses port 443 and the URLs always begins with "https://".

Advantages of HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol)

The HTTPS is more secure and uses TLS (SSL) to encrypt normal HTTP. It is a protocol specially designed to transfer any information between computers over the world wide web. The use of HTTPS makes it extremely difficult for hackers to get into the connection and steal valuable and sensitive personal information like addresses, credit card numbers, ID and passwords, etc. In addition to this, it also protects the privacy of your visits to websites. 

Who Invented HTTPS

It was invented by Netscape Communications in 1944 for its web browser named Netscape navigator.
