Difference Between STP and NTP
The STP and NTP are the conditions used in chemistry,
biology and engineering field to specify the conditions. For example, physical properties
like viscosity, freezing point change with respect to temperature and pressure.
In general, these properties are specified at STP and NTP conditions. The the full forms and Difference
between STP and NTP is given below
STP
- STP stands for standard Temperature and pressure
- Temperature in STP is 273.15 K (0°C)
- Pressure is 0.987 atm (1 bar)
- Molar volume of gas at STP is 22.4 L
NTP
- NTP stands for normal temperature and pressure
- Temperature is 293.15 K (20°C)
- Pressure is 1 atm
- Molar volume of gas at NTP is 2.24 L
I hope this clears what is the difference between STP and NTP in science.
